Child protection in tourism is essential to creating safe and ethical travel experiences for local communities. At Vivu Journeys, it is embedded in every journey through responsible and consistent practices.
1. Child Protection in Tourism at Vivu Journeys
At Vivu Journeys, child protection is built into every experience, shaping how we plan and operate each journey. We are proud to have renewed our Partnership Collaboration Agreement with the ChildSafe Movement for another three years. Through this partnership, we share a common goal: protecting and supporting children in the context of tourism.
Our commitment focuses on three core areas:
- Prevention and response to child abuse
- Developing products and services with a positive impact on children
- Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives that support child welfare
This partnership reflects our long-term commitment to applying Good Practice Guidelines and strengthening child protection in tourism through consistent, real actions.

2. How Vivu Journeys Protects Children in Tourism
At Vivu Journeys, we are committed to implementing best practices throughout our business to protect children from all forms of abuse and exploitation.
2.1. Zero Tolerance for Child Labour
Vivu Journeys does not employ anyone under the age of 18 and strictly avoids working with suppliers that violate child labour standards. This policy applies to employment only and does not restrict travel experiences for children or student groups.
2.2. Responsible Travel Design
We do not include visits to schools or orphanages as part of our itineraries, as these can disrupt learning environments and place children at risk.
2.3. Educating Travellers for Responsible Tourism Practices
Travellers are guided on how to engage responsibly with local communities. We encourage guests not to give money or gifts directly to children, helping to avoid dependency and promote more meaningful, respectful interactions.
2.4. Staff Training and Awareness
All staff are trained in child protection, ensuring they can recognize potential risks and respond appropriately. This plays a key role in maintaining safe and responsible travel experiences.
3. Beyond Protection: Empowering Children Through Travel
3.1. Educational Travel Experiences
Educational travel is a dynamic tool that takes learning beyond the traditional classroom. It gives students the opportunity to explore different cultures, histories, and environments, helping them better understand the world around them. Through experiential learning, students develop curiosity, critical thinking, and a strong sense of global citizenship.

3.2. Community Projects Supporting Local Children
Beyond travel experiences, Vivu Journeys supports community projects that directly benefit local children. One example is a school library project in Ky Anh, helping improve access to learning resources for students.
Other initiatives include building toilets, school playgrounds, and sports spaces, contributing to better learning environments and overall well-being.
