Story
Mr Khoaโs Cafรฉ is a beloved spot for egg coffee, beginning as a side venture when he and his wife worked for his father-in-law, Mr Giang, who invented the egg coffee recipe. After Mr Giang’s passing in 1987, Mr Khoa and his wife opened a cafรฉ in their home, serving a mix of former students and lower-income customers. The cafรฉ embodies genuine Vietnamese hospitality and welcomes everyone. Housed in a 130-year-old building with original furnishings, it offers a serene escape from Hanoi’s hustle and bustle.
Today, Mr Khoa and his family continue to run the cafรฉ, preserving its legacy. Visitors can enjoy a rich cup of tradition, learn about the history of egg coffee, and experience the warmth of this family-run establishment while Mr Khoa regales you with stories of bygone times.
I want visitors to experience great Vietnamese hospitality when they come here. I want people to feel at home and that everyone is welcome. This used to be a shop for those who did not have much. So, I want everyone to feel that reception when they come here.
Life is hectic and the streets of Hanoi are crazy! When people come here, they should feel relaxed and able to enjoy a moment to simply sit and enjoy a coffee.
