DAY 1: Arrive Bangkok

Arrive at Bangkok Airport. Meet your representative and private transfer to hotel in Bangkok. Free time at leisure to explore Bangkok. 

DAY 2: Exproring Bangkok

In the morning, meet your guide at the hotel lobby.  Begin your exploration with a visit to the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew), regarded as Thailand’s most sacred icon. Next explore the 240-year-old Grand Palace, an opulent and historic landmark. Wander through courtyards decorated with shimmering mosaics, sit on mighty thrones draped in silk, and listen to ancient walls echo past ceremonies.   Venture on to Wat Pho, a timeless sanctuary that has stood since the late 17th century, predating Bangkok's rise as Thailand's capital. Delve into the captivating history of King Rama I, who revitalized the temple, leaving behind a legacy embodied by the illustrious Reclining Buddha.  Immerse yourself in Thai cuisine at a local restaurant for a delightful lunch.  Discover the less-explored and more traditional aspects of Bangkok on a boat tour through the enchanting canals of Thonburi. Thonburi, once the capital of Thailand, gracefully resides on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River. Traverse the canals, locally known as khlongs, for a captivating journey into the historical and cultural tapestry of the city.  In Thonburi, you will visit Wat Pak Nam, a significant Buddhist temple. Officially known as Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen, this temple stands as a testament to Thai Buddhism, with its centrepiece being the awe-inspiring giant Buddha. Pause to soak in the spiritual ambience and delve into the rich cultural heritage woven into the temple's existence.  Continue your boat journey to Poomjai Garden, an eco-cultural oasis nestled in the heart of Bangkok. Embrace the garden's lush greenery while discovering its fascinating history and cultural significance. Add a sweet touch to your cultural experience by enjoying Thai desserts as you explore. 

DAY 3: Exploring Ayutthaya

Start your day at 08:00 AM for a morning by meeting your English-speaking guide at your hotel lobby and drive to Ayutthaya.  Uncover the captivating charm of Ayutthaya, a city rich in history, serving as the second Siamese capital after the Sukhothai era, with origins dating back to 1350. Ayutthaya's journey through time led to its flourishing as a cultural gem from the 14th to the 18th century.   Then visit the Bang Pa-in Palace, a jewel nestled amidst the shimmering waters of the Chao Phraya River. The palace was originally used as a summer retreat by the Thai royal family in the 17th century. Imagine yourself as a royal guest, invited to bask in the luxurious retreat that once graced the Thai monarchs. The palace includes several buildings which represent different architectural styles taken from Chinese, European and traditional Thai styles.  Glide across the Chao Phraya River on a gentle cable car. As the palace fades into the distance, come upon a Buddhist sanctuary nestled amidst verdant gardens. Its spires soar skyward, blending European elegance with intricate Thai artistry, promising a journey into the heart of cultural harmony.  Then take a visit to Wat Yai Chaimongkol. Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon, a Buddhist temple which dates back to the 14th century and is still an active Buddhist temple today where monks reside.  Indulge in a delightful interlude with lunch at a local restaurant, savouring the flavours of Ayutthaya's culinary treasures.  Continue your journey and explore the Ayutthaya Historical Park, the perfect place to continue your exploration. Witness the majestic Wat Mahathat, an ancient temple tracing its roots back to the 14th century. Home to the Buddha's holy relic, this site bears the scars of Ayutthaya's fall, showcasing remnants of pagodas, royal halls, and murals.   Our next stop is Wat Phra Si Sanphet, hailed as the 'Temple of the Holy' during the Ayutthaya period, showcasing stunning traditional Ceylon-style bell-shaped chedis. Take a stroll clockwise around these magnificent structures, capturing Instagram-worthy moments from various angles.   We continue our journey by visiting the serene 17th-century Buddhist temple of Wat Chaiwattanaram on the Chao Phraya River. Immerse yourself in the classic Khmer-style design, featuring a 35-meter-high prang surrounded by smaller prangs and chedi-style chapels. Marvel at the intricate reliefs depicting the life of Buddha and encounter human-sized Buddha statues, resilient witnesses to the passage of time despite missing heads or body parts due to the Burmese raid.  At the end of your tour, you will be transferred to your hotel in Ayutthaya to check in and enjoy free leisure time. 

DAY 4: Move to Phitsanulok province

Begin your morning with breakfast at the hotel. Then set off on a charming 2-hour drive to Lopburi, a city known for its spirited monkey population, injecting a whimsical element into your expedition.  As you arrive in Lopburi province, immerse yourself in the historical charm of Pra Prang Sam Yod. This ancient Khmer temple, designed in the Bayon style in the 13th century under the reign of King Jayavarman VII, features three linked prangs (towers), earning it the title of the "Three-Spired Sanctuary.  Venture forth to Phitsanulok province, a four-hour drive to a city resonating with historical significance from the Sukhothai and Ayutthaya epochs. Absorb the city's historical ambience, having played a pivotal role as the capital of the Ayutthaya Kingdom for a  25-year period.   Get a sense of the sacred ambience at the 14th-century Buddhist temple Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat. Here, encounter the revered Phra Buddha Chinnarat, considered Thailand's most beautiful Buddhist image. The fascinating history reveals the meticulous craftsmanship behind its creation.  After you will be transferred to Phitsanulok to check into your hotel. In the evening, experience a variety of street food in the bustling city by travelling on a rickshaw, as Phitsanulok is known for its vibrant street food scene. 

DAY 5: Sukhothai - Sukhothai Historical Park - Wat Maha That

Start your day with breakfast at the hotel before going on a scenic drive to Sukhothai.  Upon arriving in Sukhothai, immerse yourself in the ancient art of amulet-making through an engaging workshop with local artisans. Amulets hold profound cultural and religious significance in Thai traditions. Crafted with skill and devotion, these amulets are believed to bring protection, good fortune, and spiritual benefits to those who wear them. As you delve into the amulet-making process, respect the cultural and religious aspects associated with this cherished tradition.  Then savor a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, experiencing the authentic flavors of Sukhothai.  Next bicycle through Sukhothai Historical Park and enjoy an unforgettable journey. This Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1991, holds the remnants of the Sukhothai Dynasty, the first "Thai" kingdom from the 12th to the 14th century.  During your cycling adventure, marvel at Wat Maha That, the central temple featuring a main lotus-shaped pagoda surrounded by eight smaller pagodas. Explore Noen Prasat, the royal palace ruins, and Wat Sis Sawai, one of Sukhothai's oldest temples. Dive into the rich history of the region with a visit to the Ramkhamhaeng National Museum, showcasing artefacts and relics from the Sukhothai era, including Buddhist and Hindu images and Chinese porcelain.  Continue your cycling excursion to Wat Si Chum, the "Temple of the Bodhi Tree." Admire the colossal Sukhothai-style Buddha within the mondop, known locally as Phra Anchana. Despite the fading colors, the right hand remains adorned with gold leaf, adding to the Buddha's timeless allure. 

DAY 6: Exploring Lampang province

In the morning, experience the beauty of silk by visiting the Suntree Thai Weaving Center. Here, the ancient art of weaving comes to life on old wooden looms set amidst a vibrant green courtyard. Immerse yourself in the traditional techniques of hand-spinning cotton, weaving teen jok fabric, or crafting unique keychains from various materials. Engage with the skilled weavers and gain insights into the intricate processes that produce the exquisite textiles.  As the day unfolds, you will head to Lampang province.  Next, experience a scenic drive to the landmark Buddhist temple Wat Phra That Lampang Luang, located in Lampang Province. This ancient temple stands as a testament to both reverence and history, boasting impressive architecture that reflects the grandeur of Thai heritage. Explore the spiritual aura, delve into the temple's historical significance, and capture the beauty of this sacred site. 

DAY 7: Chiang Rai - White Temple - Ban Dam Museum

Breakfast at hotel and drive to Chiang Rai.   Arrive at Chiang Rai and visit the White Temple. The White Temple, known as Wat Rong Khun, stands out as an iconic and visually striking Buddhist temple in Chiang Rai. Noted for its intricate white architecture with mirrored elements, the temple presents a surreal and almost otherworldly appearance. Conceived by Thai artist Chalermchai Kositpipat, it is filled with symbolic elements and contemporary art, setting it apart from traditional Thai temples.  Next head to Ban Dam Museum, also known as the Black House, a captivating art exhibit and museum. Crafted by the late Thai national artist Thawan Duchanee, Ban Dam comprises over 40 black-coloured buildings showcasing a diverse array of sculptures, artefacts, and artworks. This museum embraces a darker aesthetic, with each building reflecting Thawan's distinctive style—a fusion of traditional Thai art with contemporary, often macabre, and thought-provoking pieces. 

DAY 8: Exploring Chiang Mai

Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Chiang Mai.  Travel west of Chiang Mai to the venerable Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, perched on Mount Doi Suthep. The temple's origins, shrouded in legend, are believed to be traced back to 1383. As a place of pilgrimage, it has expanded over time, captivating Thai devotees.  Visit the temple's base on a scenic drive through lush landscapes. Ascend the temple grounds via a tram ride, immersing yourself in the spiritual ambience.  Explore the site's pagodas, bells, statues, and shrines, including a replica of the Emerald Buddha and a statue of the Hindu God Ganesh. The temple's layout narrates Buddhism's story, weaving in the tale of the revered white elephant.  According to legend, a monk named Sumanathera brought a bone to Lan Na's king, believed to be Gautama Buddha's shoulder bone. The bone, placed on a white elephant, led to the temple's construction atop Doi Suthep.  Witness Buddhist monks chanting in meditation, enhancing the temple's sacred atmosphere. Amidst religious architecture and relics, savour breathtaking views of Chiang Mai City during a captivating Thai sunset.  In the evening, join your guide for a street food adventure in Chiang Mai by riding the local transport known as "Songtaew" from your hotel. The city is celebrated for its lively street food scene, offering a rich tapestry of delectable dishes served from bustling food stalls and carts. Explore the diverse flavors of Chiang Mai's street foods, with must-try options like Khao Soi, Moo Ping, Som Tum, Roti, Khanom Krok, and Pad Thai. DAY 9: Chiang Mai - Doi Inthanon National Park

Meet your guide at the hotel and embark on a journey to Doi Inthanon National Park.  Nestled in Chiang Mai, Doi Inthanon National Park is a captivating natural sanctuary. It takes its name from Doi Inthanon, the highest peak in the country, towering at an elevation of 2,565 meters (8,415 feet) above sea level. The park is celebrated for its enchanting natural landscapes, diverse flora and fauna, and rich cultural significance. Revel in the awe-inspiring scenery, encompassing verdant forests, cascading waterfalls, and a summit that offers panoramic vistas of the surrounding mountains and valleys.  During the excursion, you'll have the opportunity to visit Wachirathan Waterfall, explore the charming Mae Klang Luang village, and discover pagodas and shrines dedicated to the Thai king and queen, strategically positioned near the summit. These historical sites not only provide insights into Thai royal history but also offer serene spaces for contemplation.  Return to Chiang Mai town to enjoy free time at your leisure. 

DAY 10: Move to Phuket

Breakfast at hotel and drive to Chiang Mai Airport. Fly to Phuket.  Arrive at Phuket Airport, private transfer to hotel in Phuket.  Check in and free time at leisure. 

DAY 11: Phuket - Phi Phi Island - Banboo Island

Breakfast at the hotel and explore Phi Phi Island and Banboo Island by speed boat. Take in the sights of Maya Bay from the boat, followed by an opportunity to disembark and take a leisurely walk to admire the iconic Maya Bay, renowned for its starring role in the movie 'The Beach.' While swimming is not permitted here, guests can explore on foot and capture stunning photographs. Next visit Pileh Cove, often called the Blue Lagoon, where crystal-clear seawater beckons for a refreshing swim. Take in the sights of the Viking Cave and Monkey Beach from the comfort of the boat. 

DAY 12: Phuket - Coconut Island

Breakfast at the hotel and board a speed boat to visit Coconut Island, which lies along the eastern coast of Phuket and can be reached by a short ride from Laem Hin pier. This naturally charming island is home to approximately 800 Thai Muslims who live in a community with a small local school and healthcare centre. The villagers, primarily fishermen and farmers, cultivate coconut plantations, rubber plantations, and local vegetables. Visiting the island and participating in interactive activities helps support the local community. 

DAY 13: Free day at leisure in Phuket

Breakfast at hotel and free day at leisure. 

DAY 14: Phuket - Departure

Breakfast at hotel. Private transfer to Phuket Airport and fly to your next destination.
