Story

Thi No, inspired by a famous Vietnamese love story, purchased a farm and kiln to promote organic rice-growing practices in Hoi An. Her farm serves as a platform for educating visitors and local youth on sustainable practices.

On the way to Thi No’s farm, guests will first explore local craft villages where they can observe traditional carpentry and the intricate art of mother-of-pearl engraving. They will also have the opportunity to see fresh noodles being made and rice paper cakes prepared using traditional rice husk-fired ovens.

Upon arrival at Thi No’s farm, guests can enjoy a healthy drink, learn about the farm’s origins, witness rice cultivation, and participate if desired. The experience concludes with a delicious farm-to-table meal made from ingredients sourced directly from the farm, all while taking in stunning countryside views.

When I first purchased the farm and a nearby kiln, people said I was crazy for wasting my money. However, there’s a well-known love story here in Vietnam about a man who falls in love with a woman at an old kiln—not for her appearance, but for her kind heart. Her name is Thi No, and that’s the nickname I go by. I had to buy the land!

On my farm, I grow organic black rice, and I’m committed to changing industry practices for the better to support the hard-working farmers in this region.
