This morning, drive to the East Sussex town of Battle to visit the site of the legendary 1066 Battle of Hastings, using an audio guide to experience more. Learn the story of this extraordinary battle at the visitor centre. Then head to  Abbey Ruins, the very spot where King Harold was said to have died, reaching a gruesome end with an arrow in his eye!

This afternoon, drive to the pretty medieval town of Rye, located between three rivers. Enjoy walking through the charming cobbled streets and visiting the Ypres Tower, a museum which used to be a prison and offering spectacular views of the harbour.
