Story
Meet Mr. Hok Sokol, quietly spoken but deeply committed to one of Cambodia’s most enduring legacies: the traditional Khmer wooden house. Growing up in such a home, he didn’t just witness its beauty; he lived it. With a background in heritage conservation and UNESCO restoration, Mr. Sokol has become one of Cambodia’s foremost experts in traditional wooden architecture. His home outside Siem Reap is not only where he lives, it’s a living museum where guests are welcomed with tea and stories that span centuries.
Rather than simply preserving the past, Mr. Sokol revives it through his craftsmanship and storytelling. Each beam, carving, and floorboard in his home speaks to Khmer values and a way of life rapidly disappearing. It is not just a design principle but a philosophy of care for heritage, for community, and for cultural continuity.
These houses hold memory, wisdom, and identity...Quality architecture is a lifelong investment.
