4, Discover the Ky Anh Tunnels

Located just an hour from Hoi An, the Ky Anh Tunnels are smaller than the famous Cu Chi Tunnels but without the crowds. Built in secret under Tam Thang Commune, the Ky Anh Tunnels span 32 kilometres and served as a shelter, logistics, and military command base for nearly 1,000 soldiers between 1964 to 1975. Meet our Local Legend, Mr. Ta, who holds the keys to the tunnels and also helped dig them as a teenager in 1964. He’ll guide you to a 300-year-old communal house, the starting point of the tour, and will tell you the tunnel’s stories as well as about his own experience scouting during the war as you traverse the underground passageways.
