Enjoy a self-drive tour of wonderful Somerset!  Begin at Taunton and drive to Chard, the highest town in Somerset with beautiful countryside. Whilst here, visit Forde Abbey, a former Cistercian Monastery, to see the Mortlake tapestries.

Continue to Hinton St George,  a hamlet frozen in time followed by Lytes Cary Manor. Drive onto Kingweston to see the impressive church and if a clear day, views of Glastonbury! Next, head to Glastonbury Tor, where the lone St Michael’s Tower sits peacefully.

Enjoy lunch or coffee plus time to shop at Clarks Village in the town of Street. Next, drive to your final stop, Burrow Mump (translated as “Hill Hill”), home to historic church ruins dating back as far as the Roman era – a perfect way to end your tour!
