Tour Plan

Day 1: Siem Reap Arrival

Upon arrival, your guide will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel. The Siem Reap International Airport is located approximately 55km/1h 30mins away. In the evening, we will spend an hour setting a sense of focus for the group through a Service-Learning Workshop. Here we will introduce the 5 P’s for sustainable communities. We’ll then teach the group some basic Cambodian phrases before we transfer to a local restaurant for a welcome dinner.

Day 2: Visit to Bayon Pastry School - Phare Circus

The dedicated to investigating social enterprises and NGOs begin with Bayon pastry school, this school provides vocational training in pastry to underprivileged women. The rigorous selection process chooses young women based on their motivation and their family’s income level. Pastries are now sold in the school’s coffee shop, and the benefits help finance the school. Begin visiting Bayon Pastry School and meet with the school director to receive NGOs background history introduction. This is a great chance for students to ask questions and answers. Continuing to Angkor Hospital for Children Centre, it has provided information and tours to those interested in AHC’s work. Learn how AHC has transformed pediatric healthcare in Cambodia in the past 20 years through video, guided tours, photo exhibition, and more. Heading to "SPOONS Café and Restaurant is a Social Enterprise connected to "SPOONS Cambodia Organization" (formerly EGBOK Mission) and enjoy a delicious lunch there. In the afternoon, you will meet Ven. Lorm Loeurm, an executive director of the Life and Hope Association. The association leads empowering and educational projects for women. Transfer to a local restaurant for an early dinner before going to Phare Circus. Get a taste of both contemporary and historic Cambodia with an evening under the big top in downtown Siem Reap. Phare Cambodian Circus, an NGO that supports disadvantaged Khmer youth with art and performance training, is a show without animals that showcases a talented cast accomplished in acrobatics, contortion, aerial ballet, tightrope walking, juggling, mime, drama, and comedy. Cambodia has a long history of circus tradition, dating back as far as the 6th century from temple carvings depicting circus performances for ceremonies and festivals. While the show is fully modern, it draws on Cambodian tradition, folk stories, and folk music.

Day 3: Experience village stay at Kok Sangke community

Morning breakfast at hotel then pack up and check out. Afterward begin transfer 35 kilometers heading northeast to Kok Sangke community, a rural countryside where you will experience village stay for a few nights. Halfway stop to at The Peace Museum of Mine Action supports Peace and Development through Landmine/UXO Clearance in Cambodia. After that continue to Kok Sangke community village stay, upon arrival welcome and check in and introducing to family host which you will be stay for a few days. Special Note: At Kok Sangke community Village Stay you will stay in teams of 4 or 6 in a local family's house. And the family can provide a clean Asian style squat toilet and bathing area (but no hot water). You will also be provided with fresh sheets, blankets, pillows, and mosquito nets. All will be well explained by your guides who will be on hand to assist with communications and questions. Lunch at community center. In the afternoon begin with community introduction, including Dos and Don’ts, health, and safety as well as village orientation lead by community facilitator. From there, dedication time on “Community Needs Analysis” lead by teachers to focus on the following session including brainstorming for shaping questionnaire, interview, mapping, researching and investigation and open community for assurance on data collections.

Day 4: Take boat ride at Kampong Khleang

Enjoy a simple breakfast at a community center. Afterwards, and dedicated time on “Community Needs Analysis” session including brainstorming for shaping questionnaire, interview, mapping, researching and investigation and open community for assurance on data collections. Enjoy lunch break at community center before taking boat ride at Kampong Khleang a floating community on Tonle Sap Lake. Tonight, we will host another discussion before dinner at the community centre.

Day 5: Service-Learning Workshop

Enjoy a simple breakfast at the community centre. Afterwards, Service-Learning Workshop and dedication to the “Community Needs Analysis” session. This will feature brainstorming for shaping the questionnaire, interview, mapping, researching and investigation and open community for assurance on data collection. Enjoy lunch break at community center before learning how to make bamboo sticky rice with villagers following by traditional monk blessing ceremony. This evening, enjoy a sunset BBQ dinner at community center followed by session and reflection.      

Day 6: Back to Siem Reap - Joining photo scavenger tour at Angkor Complex

Breakfast at the homestay. Say goodbye to your community host and transfer back to Siem Reap to continue the day by joining our photo scavenger tour at Angkor Complex. It begins at the South Gate of Angkor Thom to explore the centrepiece of this ancient city, Bayon. The Bayon encloses 54 towers decorated with more than 200 enigmatic, smiling stone faces. The morning tour also visits the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Terrace of Elephants and the Terrace of Leper Kings, as well as Ta Prohm Temple. Early evening, stroll around night market and old market before a Farwell dinner at Chanrey Tree restaurant.

Day 7: Siem Reap Departure

Your guide will pick you up at your hotel and transfer you to the airport.
