Explore the magnificent Highlands of Scotland.

Go in search of Nessie on a Loch Ness Cruise; enjoy a return train journey on the Jacobite Steam Train – aka the Hogwarts –  Express before testing your skills at laser clay pigeon shooting in the Cairngorms!

 

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Inverness

Make your own way to your hotel in Inverness.

Suggested Overnight Hotel: Best Western Inverness Palace Hotel

Day 2: Inverness

SIC TOUR: One-day Loch Ness Cruise and Culloden Battlefield Tour 

Today, transfer to Dungarroch Loch where you will board your Jacobite Cruise boat for a two-hour round trip along the Caledonian Canal and onto Loch Ness, the famed location of Urquhart Castle and Loch Ness! Admire views of Urquhart Castle and hear stories of the lake, the Jacobites and Nessie before returning to land.

Next, transfer to Culloden where you will enjoy a visit to Culloden Battlefield, the famed battlefield where the 1745 Jacobite Rising came to a tragic end. Transfer back to your hotel.

Day 3: Inverness

Transfer to the town of Fort William in the west of the Highlands where you will enjoy a return train journey on the Jacobite Steam train, made famous for its use in the Harry Potter films as the Hogwarts Express, as well as for its out-of-this-world scenery.

You will enjoy a return journey from Fort William to the small town of Mallaig in the north-west of Scotland, where there are a number of lunch options available (own expense).

On arrival back into Fort William, transfer back to Inverness and enjoy your evening meal.

Day 4: Inverness

Transfer to the Cairngorms where you will enjoy a modern take on a traditional activity – laser clay pigeon shooting. Enjoy expert guidance as you use your laser guns to shoot the clays!

Continue by road to the alpine town of Aviemore (the perfect place to find lunch (at own expense)). Next, take a ride on the Strathspey steam railway as it cuts through the beautiful scenery of the Cairngorms to the town of Broomhill. On arrival, be picked up and transferred back to your hotel for a farewell dinner.

Day 5: Depart Inverness

After check out, continue independently on your onward journey.
